Hop Sing Chinese Restaurant was founded by popular local restauranteur, Mr Peter Cheung. In 1962, Peter was on his way to Newark from London and had to stop for something to eat. He stopped in Grantham, in those days there was just the A1, and everyone stopped in Grantham. He looked around for some lunch and there was nothing, that’s when he decided to settle here and open a restaurant. He was known for his hospitality, kindness and dedication to authentic and tasty Cantonese cuisine. Hop Sing Restaurant retains his values and remains part of the social fabric of this friendly town.
Our story begins in 1962.
